Half Day Tours
(09:30 - 12:30 or 13:30 - 17:30)
- Tour commences from the district six museum
and travels to Khayalitsha.
- The tour includes a visit to a day center
called "Bonginkosi" which means praise the Lord. The
center houses 3 hundred children and has 18 teachers, help and
donations are gladly accepted.
- View the whole of Khayalitsha from the "Look
Out Hill"
- An excursion of the craft market then follows
where locals sell their hand made goods, and you get to visit
those with HIV Aids where donations are needed.
You then view a government enterprise called "Zenele"
which means Do it yourself.
This is where locals get the opportunity to learn different
skills.
- It then ends with the "Town Tours".
This is where you view open markets where people sell fruit
and vegetables. Locals also entertain you by braaiing (Barbecue)
and give you the opportunity to do some tasting. A barber shop
is also available as well as a Shebeen if you want to relax
and have a drink with the locals and get a feel of their lifestyle.

great way to do so. The people in this area might not have access to
the entertainment facilities that you are used to, such as Party Poker
websites and health spas, for example. However, they are extremely
hospitable, and are usually keen to show visitors their local customs
and traditions. This can provide a real insight into the way these
people live.
